"Treasure Our Elders"
Many residents of Forest Manor, Inc are the people who planted seeds that have made our community grow stronger. They have been teacher, business people, parents and grandparents, and other central figures who have produced all of the many wonderful things that we enjoy on a daily basis.
National Nursing Home Week, an annual observance that honors the residents and staff of our nation's nursing facilities, is May 13-19. During that entire week our facility will be hosting many special activities. This will include everything from special dress-up days to a Luau. Also, we will have a Treasure Chest Day that will include a Treasure Hunt for the residents. We will encourage everyone (residents, staff, and family members) to dress in pirate attire for this special day. Also, staff from different departments will design special Treasure Chests for this day filled with "goodies" for the residents. More specific information will be posted about the other special events of the week.
We would also like to recognize residents and members of our staff whose lives exemplify the "treasures" of our lives. We want to ask family members, residents, volunteers and staff members to nominate individuals for special recognition. First, we would like to recognize a "Resident of the Year". We have many residents that have accomplished extraordinary things in their lifetime and continue to inspire us on a daily basis. We are asking each of you to tell us why you think your family member is a "treasure" in your life or the life of others. What did they do to make a difference in your life and the life of those around them? We would love to hear about them. Let us know why you think they should be chosen as "Resident of the Year" at Forest Manor, Inc.
Secondly, we want to give everyone the opportunity to recognize our staff. Working in long-term care is very stressful and demanding. For those of us who have chosen this profession we all agree it is not just a job but it is a "calling". It is a profession that requires special people with special talents. We feel that Forest Manor is blessed with an abundance of such people. Please help us to recognize our outstanding employees by nominating individuals that have been a "treasure" to you or your family from any of the following categories:
Registered Nurse (RN)
Licensed Nurse (LPN)
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Dietary Services
Environmental Services (Maintenance, Housekeeping, Laundry)
Activities
Other (Business Office, Social Services, Central Supply) All nominations for each category will be reviewed by a panel of judges. Make plans to join us for a special celebration for the Resident of the Year on Wednesday May 16, 2007 at 10:00AM. Employee of the Year recognition will take place on Thursday May 17, 2007 (Time to be announced at a later date). All nominees will be presented a certificate of special recognition. Please take time to help us recognize all those who have been "Treasures" in you life at Forest Manor, Inc.
